If you’re here, chances are you’ve stumbled across a little community called the Traveling Arts Project. Maybe you joined one of our journal groups, signed up for a cross stitch round, found us through social media, or maybe you’re simply curious about what we’re building here.
Either way, welcome. I’m so glad you’re here!
The Traveling Arts Project started with a simple idea: creativity feels better when it’s shared with friends! 💖
What originally began as an idea to share a bookish journal between our bookclub of three – quickly grew into something much bigger! People from different states, different backgrounds, different ages, and different walks of life started sharing their creativity with one another. Complete strangers became friends. Journals filled with memories traveled hundreds—sometimes thousands—of miles across the country and Canada!
And honestly? It felt a little magical.
That experience inspired the creation of the Traveling Arts Project—a home for collaborative creativity in all its forms.
Today that includes traveling journals and our very first traveling cross stitch groups. Tomorrow? Who knows. Maybe new art forms, new projects, and new ways to connect with one another through creativity.
This blog will serve as our community scrapbook.
You’ll find behind-the-scenes updates, project spotlights, creative inspiration, tips and tricks, participant stories, and occasional reflections from me as I navigate building this little dream.
Most importantly, I hope it becomes a place that reminds you of something we often forget as adults:
Creativity doesn’t have to be perfect.
You don’t have to be an expert.
You don’t have to make something worthy of a gallery wall.
You simply have to create. 💕
